40Billion

Ever heard of the networking site 40Billion?

Who they are:  "40Billion is the social network of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and creative people; a social platform for connecting people and promoting the things they create. People use 40Billion to find professional contacts and projects, promote themselves, advertise their company's products and services, and show off their creations to the world."

What they claim: "40Billion is an easy way to build your network of contacts, share information about topics you care about, and promote yourself, your business, and your creations to the world."

I couldn't pass up the idea of promoting Coyote's Blessings throughout the world. The best way to get more popular is to expand!

The story of the bird

This morning Crow noticed the Crystal Bird knobling I made for Tina was missing. Tina told us a story about a bird with a broken wing. Tina and Laura, a friend of hers, found an injured bird near the store. They took it to the Peninsula Wildlife Rescue for treatment. The staff assessed the bird. They told the two friends that the bird had a broken wing, and needed to be put down. Though its injures were not fatal, the quality of of the bird's life would not be very good.

Tina and Laura came back to Mountain View. Tina, seeing her friend in great distress, offered to loan Crystal Bird to Laura. "There is always beauty in the world, and life continues to strive forward." So Crystal Bird is spending time in Laura's office. Perhaps someone will stop by and she will be able to tell the story of the bird that touched her, and inspired her to get a bird for herself. A real one that is. Laura is holding on to Crystal Bird until she gets her bird.

For the Coyote's Blessings crew, it means we have achieved a step on the artists' ladder - one of our art pieces is officially "on loan".

Weekly update

Hello everyone,

Hope sold last week, before Tina had a chance to hang it on the General Store's wall. A friend of hers bought Hope.

We have new square magnets and new Critter Clips! A customer at MVGS suggested making pairs of Critter Clips, so our  new batch are smaller and paired.

The camera is currently MIA. Pictures are forth-coming. The store is as updated as it can be at the moment.

Peace.

Help Wanted

The Purple

Here is one of the knoblings currently in-progress. I would like suggestions. Anyone have any suggestions for this knobling? How shall I continue it? Does a specific creature or personality beckon to be created?

Let me know! -Coyote

Tuesday (aka - Store Update Part 2)

Today's showcase includes new magnets and some oddities that rode in on the back of glass tortoise.

Some of the magnets available at the Mountain View General Store

Designed from the remains of a shattered pot, I call this wall hanging "Hope". It represents the flower of hope that can grow from even the most broken of times.

Hope

Speaking of glass tortoises, one wandered into our store this afternoon. Traveler brings with him the myriad of adventures and tales from his tortoise-y history. Ask him a question, he'll tell you no lie. Check out his feet, are those knobs you spy?

Enjoy the new products in the store and be sure to leave a comment if you want. Please consider following us on Twitter and Liking us on Facebook. It is the fastest way to let the world know about the store you already love.

Anyone know anything about Pinterest or Yelp? Is it worth getting an account with them? Are there any other social media sites people love?

Store Update

It's Tuesday!

Today I added to the store a plethora of new pictures and items. These include our new style of Critter Clip. Instead of being attached to the outside, the fastener is cooked into the clay. This will (hopefully) prevent the design flaw we previously experienced.

Here's a sneak peak:

What do you think?

Short entry this time, but more to come....

Introducing Horse! (Of course)

HORSE

Yesterday a tiny package arrived in the mail. The contents pressed against its' interior enough to bulge the sides and split the seam. Blue and purple shone through. Unwrapping it with eager interest, we discovered the first of Horse's anticipated addition to Coyote's Blessings. Blue Bells is an elegant hand-knitted scarf of acrylic yarn.

We have the tags for her other scarfs and her hand-spun, hand-dyed yarn skeins. They are all forth-coming on to the site, be sure to look for them in the upcoming weeks. With Blue Bells as an example of her work, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what else she creates.

Critter Clips Away!

Hello everyone,

Last night we attended a free dinner and workshop promoted by our chiropractor. The food was delicious and the discussion interesting. Near the end of the meal, we began discussing Coyote's Blessings with our neighbor (communal tables) when she dropped her napkin. The conversation turned toward our Critter Clips. She was excited to hear about them. Crow and I regretted not bringing some examples of the Critter Clips. We exchanged information and she mentioned a website I should investigate.

One of the customers in the store decided to buy a Critter Clip. Then she decided to buy another one. Then ... she bought the last one! She loves them so much she decided to commission more. Looking forward to seeing what she asks for, or if she wants more of the same styles we've already created.

Well, we know what Crow is working on tomorrow.

Goodbye Critter Clips and good luck.

News from the Front

Hello everyone,

Today marks the day Frog, the magnet knobling, got his forever home. He moved out of the Mountain View General Store and went home with a man who said "I love him!". Of course we hope Frog gives smiles to everyone who sees him. Good luck Frog.

In other news, the online store has been updated with new products, including window clings! Each window cling is handmade, which means they vary slightly in color and consistency; therefore we guarantee them to be individual and unique. We take commissions, though specific designs are better for the window clings.

I have a few show cased below, including a dragon I made from one of Crow's drawings. It is a Frost Scalla.

Frost Scalla - Perhaps this is Ages with his true colors? Though he is called the White Dragon of Ages Past, anyone who has seen him (or read about him) knows he is not completely white. This window cling is based on one of Crow's Scalla drawings.

A Google Map marker. Like our Facebook and Twitter window clings, we do not have permission to sell these... yet.

A random star cluster with various stars I created. None of them are sell worthy, but are good practice with the window cling material. I plan to create fireworks for July!

Other changes to the store include more magnets and new pictures of Critter Clips. Check it out.
